LAPD Beach Patrol, Summer 2016
Officers Rusty Redican and Quentin Blanton have begun our Summer Beach Patrol and have successfully been keeping our beaches and bluffs safe. If you see them out on the beach or bluffs, please thank them for their service. If you have any concerns, please let them know and they will follow-up.
The Beach Patrol was requested by the PPTFH jointly with community leaders. With the support of Mike Bonin and LAPD Captain Nieto, the team began in the second week of June 2016. They work closely with the PPTFH and our Outreach Team from OPCC to engage the homeless that are in need of services.
If you encounter a homeless person in need of help, please utilize the OPCC outreach team number (310-460-2630). Please be prepared to give a description of the individual and a location so that the outreach team can follow-up. If you have an emergency, call 911. In case of a non-emergency, call 877-ASK-LAPD (877-275-5273). The non-emergency has recently been dramatically improved — the menu is more effective and LAPD response is much faster!
